After the turf has rooted (around 2–3 weeks), reduce to deeper, less frequent watering to encourage strong root growth.

You should mow your new lawn once the turf has properly rooted, usually 2–3 weeks after installation. Check by gently lifting a corner — if it resists, it’s ready. For the first cut, use a sharp mower blade and remove no more than one-third of the grass height. Avoid heavy traffic until the lawn is fully established.
